26th June 2020, Palace Žofín
Our school has reached another year of its existence – but this time it is not just another year. Park Lane International School’s first ever graduates left the Secondary classrooms in order to pursue their studies at universities around the world. The celebration of this milestone for them and for Park Lane was marked by
a special event on the 26th of June 2020 – the Graduation Ball at Palace Žofín. The preparatory work took almost a year and the Ball committee (a team comprising the students, Park Lane staff and an external company) worked tirelessly in order to make things happen.
Nothing stopped them – the COVID pandemic or the last minute change of venue were just minor hurdles to overcome. The evening was an extraordinary success. Our graduates shone throughout the whole evening, the palace was theirs indeed! I think some moments will remain in our memories such as dance with the teachers, the parents or the promenade of the graduates with a short individual projection of what they will do 20 years from now. The pictures projected behind the stage showing our graduates as little kids and comparing these babies to their grown-up selves just underlined the idea of the Graduation Ball – the school has also matured and become ‘adult’ now. It was lovely to see the whole community of students, parents, teachers and wider Park Lane staff who all stand behind the successful accomplishment of our first cohort’s secondary school years, enjoying the evening in such unity, mingling and chatting in the corridors or at the tables, dancing to the sound of the Brass Avenue band or taking pictures together to keep the unforgettable moments of the evening forever… The Ball itself confirmed that hard work pays off but hard work also needs to be celebrated.
All the best to our Graduates of 2020!
