Prior to pursuing a career in teaching, I trained and practiced law in Colombia, as well as setting up and running a translations company. As a lawyer I represented victims’ families in the National Commission for Reparation and Reconciliation. I also worked voluntarily on education programmes focusing on prevention of forced recruitment to paramilitary organisations, and a radio station for kidnap victims.
Through these experiences I realised that education is the foundation of any well-functioning society, so I decided to pursue a career as a teacher. I completed my PGCEI with University of Nottingham and worked for two years in an international school in Vietnam.
My family and I relocated to Prague last year and we are thrilled to be part of such an outstanding community here in Park Lane. I hope to share with my students my love of learning and getting to know new and exciting cultures.
