Originally from Surrey, in the south of England, I studied Chemistry at the University of York, followed by a PGCE. I then returned to Surrey to teach in a large secondary school for three years.
Along with my husband, I got the opportunity to move to Prague in 2015 and it was a great decision. We are very lucky to live in such a beautiful, interesting city.
I first joined Park Lane in 2015 when it was still a small but vibrant school full of possibilities and I thoroughly enjoyed my time here.
In 2017 we left Prague to travel and follow the England Men’s cricket team to Australia, visiting some beautiful countries and eating delicious food on the way. Post-cricket we decided that Prague was calling us back. Re-joining Park Lane in the next stage of its journey is so exciting and I am looking forward to immersing myself once more in this lovely community.
Teaching science is an absolute joy, the scope of the subject is so wide that I am constantly learning new things and following new developments in the field while discovering new stories to share with my students. I love how the subject can truly be driven by student interest. I am a positive, warm and enthusiastic teacher and I pride myself on getting to know my students as individuals to encourage them to push themselves further than they thought they could go.
In my spare time I like to read, cook, listen to podcasts, and run. I am a member of Old Town Running Club here in Prague and am also a loyal supporter of the England cricket teams.
