Having completed an English Literature and History degree, I worked in various fields and combined work with raising a family.
Ten years ago, I had a conversation about Shakespeare with a friend who was a deputy head and she asked me to apply for a position as English Intervention TA at her school. This is when I discovered that teaching was the profession for me!
I decided to take the PGCE and have taught English Literature and Language for the last seven years. I have found every day to be different! I love working with teenagers who have such a unique way of viewing the world around them.
It is a privilege to be able to share and create a love of literature with my pupils. I believe it is a medium through which we learn about ourselves and the world in which we live and I enjoy watching pupils question and develop their own ideas.
As well as spending time with family and friends, I enjoy reading (obviously!), going to the theatre, jogging, walking and Netflix!
