Originally from South Africa, I completed my BA in Visual Arts at the University of Stellenbosch. To explore a part of my ancestral roots, I moved to the Netherlands to undertake a MA in Visual Arts. While working in the commercial graphic industry and for an Artist/Teacher, I realised the beauty of art as a form of understanding and discovery. With this idea that every artist has a didactic method, I completed my PGCE in 2014 in South Africa. After this, I taught primary aged children in Belgium and in June 2016 I moved to the Czech Republic to pursue a Ph.D in Art Education at the Charles University in Prague. Prior to joining Park Lane, I worked as a primary school art teacher in Brandýs nad Labem.
Being truly passionate about the Arts in all its forms, I feel very privileged to live in such a culturally rich and inspiring city and to be part of the wonderful, ever-growing Park Lane community. I feel fortunate to be involved in a subject I am enthusiastic about and to have the opportunity to work with young learners through a journey of exploring their creativity and thinking.
I have two lovable godchildren whom I try to see as often as possible, and, in my spare time, I like to run, cycle, read, take photographs, visit antique stores and sleep - in no particular order!
