Matthew Brown
After completing my Undergraduate degree in Astrophysics and then spending a few years studying and working in the U.S., I returned to the U.K., having purposed to undertake a Post Graduate Certificate in Education, which I completed in 2006. I spent three years working at inner-city schools in the U.K. before taking a post at an international school in Switzerland.
After six years of living and teaching in the mountains, I decided that it was time for a change of pace and a new challenge, so applied for the position at Parklane. International School.
As a Cosmologist, I am keen to engage the students in their pursuit toward an understanding of the machinations of the Universe and to furnish them with the skills needed in order that they can go out into the world and explore to a greater depth the mysteries and beauties that lie within.
Outside of school, I enjoy the outdoors and creative pursuits. In particular I am an avid Climber, Snowboarder, Paraglider, Downhill Biker and Surfer. I also enjoy writing, music and art, preferring to follow the rationale of those Natural Philosophers of past ages, in seeking understanding wherever it may be found.
I am greatly looking forward to working with the students here and being able to promote Physics, both within the school and the wider school community.
