I grew up in rural North Yorkshire and always had a dream of becoming a teacher. After completing a three-year English Studies degree at Sheffield Hallam University, I went on to study my PGCE at York St John’s University. Following this, I taught for three years in a rural village school, teaching the whole of Key Stage 2. This allowed me to gain extensive knowledge of all age groups in Primary. This is now my seventh year in education and I am excited to be taking on a new challenge for myself as Upper Key Stage 2 Leader.
I had always dreamt of living and working in a different country and I have now lived in Prague for two years. I am very passionate about the city and particularly enjoy my “café” lifestyle, as well as fitness activities and learning Czech. I joined Park Lane to teach Year 3 at Norbertov, since then I have taught Year 4 at Valdštejnská and I will remain there to teach Year 6 this year. I am also the subject leader for Mathematics in Key stage 2.
I am a firm believer in the importance of developing a “growth mindset” and supporting children to become independent, passionate learners. I feel very privileged to work with children from different countries and background. I find Park Lane’s pupils a joy to work with because of their enthusiasm to learn.
