Coming from a multilingual background, I have always had a passion for foreign languages and cultures. I graduated from the University of Milan with a 1st class BA in Modern Foreign Languages and Literature and then furthered my subject knowledge with an MA in European Studies at UCL. After working for 2 years in a language training company in the City in London, I decided to train as a secondary school teacher and I completed a PGCE in MFL at the University of Oxford in 2010.
My last 10 years have been spent teaching French and Spanish (and sometimes also Latin!) both in the UK and internationally. I have been Languages Subject Leader for the last 7 years and I have also covered whole-school leadership positions such as Exams Officer and Assessment Coordinator. I love my job and I am ambitious for all of my students; I believe that every student can learn to the highest standard and aspire for excellence. I value pace, engagement and interaction in lessons, as well as the use of questioning to promote responsive teaching and engaged learning.
Outside of school I love running, hiking and visiting new places, but also just sitting on my sofa reading on my kindle. I look forward to discovering Prague and the Czech Republic and being part of the Park Lane school community.
