DOFE silver award expedition to Šumava
From 15th to 17th June, thirteen students from Years 10 and 11 completed their Duke of Edinburgh's International Award Silver Expedition. After travelling to Šumava by train, they spent a beautiful Saturday navigating and hiking to the campsite at Nýrsko. A rainy Sunday did not halt the trip - the students persevered and again completed more than 20km of independent hiking, carrying their equipment. Sunday was much brighter, allowing the group to dry out on the way to the station and finally home. This trip marks the culmination of the Silver Award, and the students will soon be invited to a formal ceremony organised by The Duke of Edinburgh's International Award Czech Republic.
Well done to all involved!
