As ever the creativity and talent shown by the students who entered the competition was really amazing and I was very glad that Miss Petra and Mrs. Edwards were the judges.
One of the winning entries, by Anna A., was a beautiful watercolor of a bird on a branch. The judges were very impressed with the quality of the painting and use of color. The other winning entry was a bookmark featuring a finely crocheted rose, which was created by Hana R. 10E.
The competition for the most original bookmark was equally fierce but was eventually won by Charlie W. 7Z and Lukas Ch. 9B.
Charlie’s winning entry, based on Minecraft, featured a box marked “TNT” which flashed in various colors, while Lukas produced a magnetic bookmark with a small hole in the bottom. The caption reads, “think about the meaning of these letters.”
The runners-up were, Ori G. 8G, Charlotte C. 8H, and Amelie B. 8H. The winning entries will be reproduced and given to students from Y6 - Y9.
Well done to all who entered.
