Year 5K's update on raising money for Charity:water
Congratulations to Year 5 for their success at being silent for a WHOLE school day. We applaud you for staying quiet to raise money for the Charity:water appeal. Very well done!
A big WELL DONE to all our bearded male staff for growing their beards for the Charity:water appeal. The lobby jar is slowly rising - thank you to all the PL families for your generosity in encouraging this worthy cause.
Year 5K Raising Money for Charity:water
Last term, Y5K learnt about water around the world. As part of this study, we looked at how underdeveloped countries relied on dirty, unsanitary river water to drink. Y5K were so moved by what we saw and read, that we decided to help!
Charity:water is a non-profit organisation bringing clean and safe drinking water to people in developing nations. It is our aim to help this organisation by leading four fundraising events.
The first event is NOVEMBEARD - where things will get a little hairy! The male Park Lane staff have volunteered to give up shaving for one whole month in an attempt to raise money for our cause. You can see the week by week beard progress on the display in the school lobby. It is here, that you can also make a donation towards NOVEMBEARD.
Our second event is a Y5K Sponsored Silence. On Thursday 10th November, we take a vow of silence for the day (Miss Kim can't wait!) If you would like to sponsor this tricky challenge then you can sign any of our class members' sponsor forms or sign the form in the school office.
Any contributions are appreciated towards this worthy charity, so watch our website and display in the school lobby for our next two fundraising events for Charity:water...
