Year 4

We are offering Year 4 classes at our Prague 6 site - Střešovice (Norbertov 3) and from September 2013 at our new Prague 1 site - Malá Strana (Valdštejnská 151).
Year 4 Residential Trip (22.4.-26.4.2013)
Rock climbing, water rafting, high ropes and archery are just a small sample of the fantastic activities enjoyed by the Year 4 children during their recent residential trip. The weather during the week was absolutely amazing with the children spending the majority of their time outside in the beautiful sunshine. In the evenings, the children told stories by a campfire, enjoyed a film at the cinema and danced the night away at the funky disco. The residential trip was a wonderful bonding experience for the children and staff as the activities were all themed around survival and teamwork. Spending the week in the Czech countryside was an excellent way to start the summer term!
Maths and Science Days 11 - 13th February 2013)
Year 4C Assembly 16th November 2012
4C were very proud to present their assembly to the Key Stage 2 children and staff today. As part of their topic work, the children have been discussing how we can all be active citizens of our school community. They gave us some very important messages about how working together can help to make our environment even better by recycling our plastic and paper. They finished the assembly with a fabulous song and dance all about recycling! Well done 4C!
Week 8 in Year 4
4C have been really excited about our new study of ‘Keeping Warm’ in Science. The students used their hands to touch and estimate the temperature of water and snow. In Topic we have been stepping into the shoes of World World 2 children. We hid in our mock-up Anderson shelter and pretended that we were London evacuees being selected by new families in the countryside. We put lots of new World War 2 related vocabulary in our writing this week. Well done!
Week 7 in Year 4
Year 4 have finished Term 1 on a fabulous note and celebrated their study of Vikings in style. Well done to everyone who made a special effort to dress up as a Viking!
Week 4 in Year 4
Year 4C were busy this week with Big Typing (their Big Writing) on the Macs. They really enjoyed replying to the Australian class pals they ‘met’ via the Odizzi website.

Year 4J Viking Assembly
Year 4J has been invaded by heroic Vikings and fire-breathing dragons! During Literacy lessons the children have used their imaginations to create their very own Viking and dragon characters. The 4J Vikings made a special guest appearance at last week’s assembly, dazzling the other children in Key Stage 2. Each Viking introduced themselves and their dragon:

“My name is Torstein the Unbeatable.
I come from a large island called Vinada.
I am a Vinadian Viking from the past years.
I know thousands of dragons, but I have only one called Madfly!
He has two heads, sometimes one fights with the other.
He can blast laser beams through the nostrils of one head,
electric bolts through the other two nostrils.”

Week 3 in Year 4
In our guided reading session on *Thursday, 4C read a comical tale in which Thor had to wear a wedding dress to trick a frost monster into returning his magical hammer.
