Year 3 Term 3 January 2012
We have had a very busy term in Year 3 and have been working very hard indeed! In Literacy, we had lots of fun learning about instructions and we loved making our bookmarks. We learnt how to write instructions using ‘bossy’ verbs and adverbs! We have been trying really hard to learn our multiplication tables and on a Friday have been practising our mental maths skills in our 'Big Maths' lessons.
Science Day was great fun and we took part in lots of practical investigations to find out about magnets and forces. The car race was the highlight of the day!
We are also very happy to welcome three new children to Year 3. Lukáš has joined 3S while Tatiana and Maksim have joined 3L. We all hope they will be very happy in their new classes.

Year 3 Roman Day
Year 3 had a fantastic Roman day where children and staff dressed up in Roman and Celt costume to sing, create mosaics on the computers and sew their very own Bulla's! |

Year 3 Trip October 2011
The Year 3 children and staff had a wonderful time at the local garden centre on Thursday 13.10.2011. They learnt all about which plants would survive through the cold winter months and had great fun choosing bulbs and a variety of plants to go in the Year 3 Garden. Back at school, the Year 3 gardeners got to work planting and decorating stones. Let's hope we've got some green fingered gardeners among us! Please stop by and admire our garden - we are very proud of it! |

Year 3 Term 1 2011
In Year 3 we have spent the past few weeks settling into our new classes and having lots of fun! We have enjoyed using the new MacBook computers and the program Photobooth to create distorted images of ourselves and even putting our photos in front of the Eiffel Tower or Yosemite! The children also enjoyed thinking about packaging with Mr Neil in our DT lessons where of course they had to eat the delicious contents inside the wrappers in order to consider its packaging carefully! The children have also started to learn about 'Big Writing' which has meant lots of work on 'The Lion, The Witch and The Wardrobe' and the setting of the snowy forest. We have had a great start to the year and look forward to more exciting activities over the coming weeks!
