Park Lane's Fronter
Fronter is a Virtual Learning Environment (VLE) which has been created for the Park Lane community to assist with communication, teaching and learning and collaboration in a modern and safe way.

Fronter incorporates a variety of virtual learning systems that allow the school to be forward thinking in its teaching and learning, communication, collaboration and publishing. Fronter is currently used all over the world by businesses, schools and services and Park Lane is proud to be one of the first schools in the Czech Republic to be using this Norwegian-based technology.
The best thing about developing Fronter within Park Lane is that the children love learning online. They enjoy communicating, showcasing their work and developing a wider range of ICT skills and knowledge. However, it is perhaps Fronter’s safety which is deemed the most important aspect of having a VLE. Fronter is a secure password protected system which allows our children and staff to use the internet freely without any of the dangers of simply browsing the web.

It is our aim that by Christmas, Fronter will be fully implemented within all areas of the curriculum and the schools daily routine. Pupils in KS2 are already using Fronter at school and enjoying seeing some of its benefits and so, at the start of term 2, pupils will be coming home with their individual username and password. We encourage you to use this at home regularly and in order to help with this we will be holding Fronter training for parents in December.
