Nursery Trip to Food Market On Tuesday 13th March Nursery class went to visit the Food Market. We had a tour around the shop and were even allowed to go and have a look in the kitchen and see all of the big mixers making the bread dough! We then used this dough to make our very own bread and found out how it was cooked. We went on the explore the tastes of different cheeses and even bought the cheese that we liked the most. We especailly liked the taste of Parmesan! We had such a lovely time and found out how food is prepared, how it tastes and how the people in the shop help us! We had a really wonderful trip!


Nursery trip to Planetarium Nursery have enjoyed learning about space travel so much that we went on a trip to the Planetarium to experience space all around us! We had lots of fun getting ready to go on the Nessie buses and made a checklist to make sure we didn't forget anything! When we arrived we got our tickets and got ready to go into the planetarium where we saw lots of stars and planets all around us - unfortunately we were not allowed to take any photos inside but we can assure you it was a GREAT trip ! Afterwards we explored lots of different space activities and learnt lots of new things about space travel! What a wonderful trip. Well done Nursery!


Nursery Term 4 March 2012 Nursery have started this Term off with lots of fun and enjoyment. We have all been very excited about exploring various forms of tranport that take us all the way to space! We have even created a rocket ship in our role-play area and made everything in it ourselves! Along with all of the fun we have been working on our numbers through counting rocket ships, exploring our imagination through junk modelling our own space transport, expanding our vocabularly through making up our own space rhyming words and exploring what happens when we mix colours through marble painting! Along with having such a busy and fun filled start to the Term we have also had lots of fun playing with our wonderful new resources funded by the Bake Sale (organised by POP!)and we would like to thank all of you who helped us by donating cakes, taking money on the stall or simply through your support! I hope that the rest of the Term will be as much fun!



Nursery Trip January 2012 This Term Nursery went on a trip to Pizzeria Rugantino to find out more about food. We had lots of fun designing our own pizzas before learning how to make and cook our very own pizza! We explored lots of different ingredients including flour, tomato sauce, olives, cheese and much more before making the pizza base and adding lots of different toppings. We finished our trip off with baking the pizza in the special pizza stove! We enjoyed ourselves so much that we can't wait for our next trip! Delicious!


Term 3 Nursery January 2012 We have had a wonderful yet busy week exploring the story of 'Handa's Surprise'. We have been focussing on all of the different fruits in the story and have had lots of fun using the fruits to learn lots of new things. We worked very hard to expand our vocuabulary when looking at and touching the fruits. We even used the fruits to count forwards and backwards! The highlight of our week was when we tasted lots of different fruits...we expecially liked the taste of the Dragon fruit! Next week we are looking forward to exploring the intial sounds of the fruits and using them to find out what happens when we mix colours! Well done everyone!


Term 2 Nursery November 2011 Throughout this term we have been exploring the story of Rainbow Fish and we have been learning about lots of things including friendship and how to work together as a team. We have even been doing lots of Rainbow Fish numeracy: size sorting, recognising numerals and even making our own Rainbow Fish out of shapes! We have also been looking at the story 'We're going on a Bear Hunt' and really enjoyed focusing on expanding our vocabulary through talk and discussion. We all did very well with our describing words when exploring the textures of the grass, snow, leaves and water! We especially enjoyed talking about what we needed to get ready for our bear hunt. Guess what we found on our bear hunt? We found a BEAR hiding in the dining hall! We have all had a wonderful start to the term. Well done Nursery!
