Due to allergies, please note that Park Lane International School is a nut-free school.
From April 2013 we are co-operating with a new supplier: Fresh & Tasty (www.freshandtasty.cz). This company was established in 2009 as the newest division of the Zátiší Group (www.zatisigroup.cz) and specializes in daily meals for children and time-crunched people without any compromise in freshness and taste. They are committed to a daily diet based upon environmentally and socially responsible products, and promote mainly local producers by offering locally grown and seasonal food whenever possible.
They actively support no food waste by precise planning of production and logistics. They cook fresh food every day and donate the unsold food to the Salvation Army in Prague.
A member of Slow Food International (a global organization with supporters in 150 countries around the world who combine the pleasure of good food with a commitment to their community and the environment), Fresh & Tasty have also joined Jamie Oliver’s Foundation and utilise his knowledge and research widely.
Each day the children have a morning snack, lunch and an afternoon snack.
We believe that healthy and nutritious food is essential for the healthy development of children. We ensure that the food is varied and balanced, and contains a sufficient amount of lean meat, fish, whole-grain products and fruit and vegetables.
Our caterers work closely with nutrition professionals Petr Havlíček and Margit Slimáková who evaluate and provide advice regarding the menu to ensure that allergies and dietary requirements are met. Please ensure you contact our school office to inform us of any changes to your child’s dietary needs from those listed on the enrolment form so that we can alter their lunches accordingly.
You may be wondering how it all works. It’s simple! There is a choice of a meat or vegetarian dish. The menu and the order form for the upcoming month is posted on the website and it is emailed to you along with the deadline for meal selection. We encourage you to sit down with your child and consult them on their menu selection so that they feel that they are involved in the process. When you have made your selections, you can fill out the online order. If you do not make your choice by the requested date, the school has the right to make the choice for your child.
Cancellation of meals
Please remember that if you have to cancel lunches, you must do so online or phone or email the school office. Meals cancelled within 48 hours notice will not be refunded, as our caterer requires two full days to cancel an order. Refunds, which can be deducted from your next payment or deposited into your bank account, are made twice a year.
