Modern Foreign Languages
At Park Lane, children are offered a choice of Spanish, German or extra Czech from Year 3 upwards. Once a child has chosen their preferred language they will study this language until the end of Year 9 with a view to continuing this language as an IGCSE option in Years 10 and 11.
Our Modern Foreign Language teachers (MFL) are trained in teaching languages through speaking and listening activities, songs, role-play and early reading and writing tasks.
Czech Language
Park Lane International School is proud to be located in Prague, Czech Republic and has taken steps to ensure that students learn not only the Czech language but Czech history and culture as well. Cultural events and trips help students to gain an appreciation for their home country, whether they are Czech or if they are foreign students who have a family making the Czech Republic their home.
Czech for Foreigners
We offer an intensive Czech for Foreigners programme for parents who wish for their child to improve their Czech. These classes will run twice a week.
Czech Programme
We are very proud of our Czech Programme, which begins in Reception for native Czech speakers. Children are introduced not only to the language but also to the culture and history of their country. Czech children have to be enrolled in one of the local basic schools so that they can take the Czech early language exam and, in higher grades, the national history and geography exams.
We offer Art, Music and Physical Education in six week blocks, rotating throughout the year. Our club programme also includes Czech clubs that focus on a variety of sports and hobbies.
