Before becoming a primary teacher, I worked as a qualified nursery nurse in private day nurseries with children aged 6 months to 5 years.
Whilst working towards my degree, I completed multiple placements in primary schools in the North West of England, and spent time in nursery, primary and international school settings in Turku, Finland. After graduating, I completed my first year of teaching in the UK. I then began my international teaching career in Malawi, before coming to Park Lane here in Prague.
There are so many different aspects to my role as a teacher, and that is what I love about my job! Whether it’s thinking creatively, acting, supporting parents, celebrating success or comforting the children, every day is different.
In the classroom, I am particularly keen to support children’s development of independence and self-esteem. I would like to help children to become resilient, to challenge themselves and become self-motivated.
I pride myself in maintaining high, achievable expectations for all children in my care; both academic and behavioural. With the correct support, I believe all children can achieve their potential.
In my spare time, I enjoy sewing and knitting. However, I love to be outdoors and travelling.
