End of Year Director's note
Dear Parents,
We end another very successful year at Park and we are delighted to be continually growing in size, improving our facilities and offering more varied learning opportunities for our students. Our school library has continued to develop throughout the year and the children are thoroughly enjoying the new books, more spacious surroundings and new furniture.
As a staff we are very proud of the children's progress and achievements this year. We are delighted that our Czech children performed so well in their Czech exams and that our Year 2, Year 3 and Year 4 children achieved such good levels in their SATs Assessments. An area of school improvement was our focus on reading, and therefore we were delighted that our children attained outstanding levels in their reading tests this year. Very well done!
Another area of school development was Information and Communication Technology (ICT). The Year 3 and Year 4 children had many opportunities to access our new portal and use it for email and homework. As this was such a popular addition to school life we will continue to expand this portal system for the whole school community and we look forward to having one portal 'Fronter' as the main focus of home-school communication in the future.
Acquiring the land next to Park Lane has also been a huge triumph in our bid to extend Park Lane to include a future Secondary school. We are now working closely with the architects to build a modern, state-of-the-art campus which can be utilised by both the primary and secondary children in the future. Work is underway to ensure a fantastic building that we will all be proud of!
We will continue to inform you about the development of the Secondary school campus and the evolving secondary curriculum, staffing additions and IB examination process. However, please refer to the attached Academic Board Report for 2011 which will highlight the main areas of discussion of the Academic Board this year.
Good luck to all our leaving families - we wish you happiness in your new countries and schools. Wishing you all a very safe and happy summer and look forward to seeing you on September 1st at 9.00am,
Basia Lubaczewska - Director
