Duke of Edinburgh IA
The Duke of Edinburgh’s International Award is the world’s leading youth achievement award. The award brings together practical experiences and skills, which help to create committed global citizens.
What are the benefits of the award?
The award provides opportunities for the participants to become engaged in the local/wider community and gain experiences outside their immediate world and comfort zone. A survey conducted in the UK showed that employers valued the award as the most important non-academic qualification that they look for on a CV.
How is the award structured?
The Duke of Edinburgh’s International Award is open to students aged 14+ and each section has to be completed over a set period of time.
As a licensed ‘Award Provider’, Park Lane will begin the Bronze Award programme with our Year 9 students in January 2016.
